The part people usually see
People often see the result. They see the new business, the move, the opening, the announcement or the sale. They do not always see the private cost behind it.
For many years, I believed pressure was proof that I was serious. If I was tired, worried or carrying too much, I told myself it was part of the journey. I did not always stop and ask whether the cost was still healthy.
When ambition becomes heavy
Every dream needs time, money and energy. The problem begins when we stop choosing the cost. The dream starts taking from our health, relationships and peace without a new decision.
Sometimes we continue because we have already invested so much. We have told people about the plan. We have connected our identity to the result. Changing direction then feels like failure, even when the situation has changed.
A better question
I used to ask, “Can I make this work?” I still ask that question, but now I add another one: “What will this require from my life if it works, and what will it require if it does not?”
That second question creates a more honest plan. It makes room for financial limits, rest, support and a point where the decision must be reviewed.
What I believe now
I still believe in large goals. GlobioHub, my books and future projects all need patience and belief. But I no longer want a dream that can survive only by making every other part of life smaller.
A dream should challenge us. It should not quietly destroy the person carrying it.
Three ideas to take with you
- Decide the maximum time, money and health cost before the next stage begins.
- Choose a date to review the plan with real evidence.
- Separate the deeper purpose of the dream from its current format.
